Broken Record
8 Weeks
Illustrations made in summary of a celebratory article written by Kareem Abdul-Jabber (Lew Alcinder) prescribed to ‘The Times’ magazine style. Inspired by the feel of the article, two key visuals were created to celebrate LeBron James’ legacy, marked by his inhuman ability to not only survive but strive in the NBA for 20 years and counting. Distortion of the human body exposes the athletic capability, dominantly and prominently in his longevity to break record heights. An insight I gained into this project was about colour unity. By limiting light, shadow, and mid-tones, I could define tones that support the main colours. Once corrected, the main visuals stood out.
