A new identity was created for a monthly cuisine publication, starring Japanese. The magazine aims to connect creatives and youth with food cultures around Melbourne. Its name was inspired by trendy speech. Meals are presented across spreads to invite a hint of food experience and connection to the culture. Often the layout seemed ambitious to follow with imagery in the centre. By committing to a grid, I could allow the text content to flow smoothly in their columns separately from the imagery. In this project, I learned that it is inevitable to understand a brief to produce a successful approach that can best lead to meeting the needs of a brief.
