BUB aimed to rekindle the idea of local soft drinks for the Brunswick community. The objective was to provide design-savvy locals with a weird design on a soft drink that communicated the suburb’s energy and creativity. To speak the Brunswick style, I took a tour around the area and noticed a lot of graffiti as animated highly detailed artworks, expressive and hypnotizing, and the evening scene was just as energetic as the artwork. I created an owl concept that screamed its alert and bold community as creators and students. Predetermined ideas of a “weird” idea challenged me to meet this brief. Instead, I had to let the community aid as signals for creating the work.
